Thinking about epoxy over tiles?
Tiles aren’t always perfectly level, and grout lines can hide those differences.
Once you add a glossy coating, light can highlight every little variation.
Before you start, make sure the existing tiles are as flat and stable as possible.
The smoother the base, the better the finished result.

We can get epoxy to stick to a lot of different surfaces.
But what’s happening underneath the tile?
If the tile moves, shifts or starts separating from the concrete underneath, the epoxy coating on top can’t fix the problem.

Before you commit, get the existing floor properly assessed and talk to an experienced epoxy contractor about the right system for your space.

Thinking about putting epoxy over tiles? 👀 You actually have options.
The question isn't simply “Can you epoxy over tiles?”
It's “What finish do you actually want, and how should the existing tiles be prepared?”
That decision can make a huge difference to the final look.

Can you epoxy over tiles?
It’s a question we hear a lot, especially when you already have an existing tiled surface and you’re wondering whether you can transform it without ripping everything out.
Before you commit, get the existing floor properly assessed and talk to an experienced epoxy contractor about the right system for your space.

How we protect your property starts before we even touch the floor. 👷‍♂️
Every EFC team follows the same setup on every job.
When you’re working with rapid-cure epoxy, you need to think beyond the floor itself. We don’t want epoxy, tools or equipment tracking across your driveway or other areas of your property.
It’s a simple system, but it’s part of doing the job properly, clean, organised and consistent from start to finish.

One of the compounds found in tyres is 6PPD, and garages can be particularly susceptible because tyres sit directly on the floor and can get very hot, especially during summer.

Those black tyre marks might not be dirt.
You scrub, you clean… and suddenly realise they’re not coming off.
Chemicals within modern tyres can migrate out of the rubber and interact with flooring surfaces.
The good news? There are ways to reduce the risk.

So even with a high quality, chemically resistant epoxy system, why take the risk?
For extra peace of mind, especially where a vehicle will sit in the same spot for long periods, use a quality car mat to reduce direct, prolonged tyre-to-floor contact.

Those car mats might be doing more than keeping the showroom looking clean.
Your tyres contain chemicals such as 6PPD, an anti degradant used to protect rubber. Under the right conditions, tyre chemicals can migrate from the tyre and contribute to staining or discolouration of flooring coatings.
Your garage can look like a showroom and your floor gets another layer of protection. 🚗✨
